यदकारणकं भाति भानं तन्नैव किंचन ।
तत्तथा परमार्थेन परमार्थः स्थितोऽनघ ॥ १ ॥

Shri Vasishtha said: O sinless one, that manifestation which appears without a cause is not anything (real) at all. Indeed, that supreme reality (paramārtha) alone exists as the ultimate truth (paramārtha).
