यद्वद्दूरगतं वस्तु नादर्शे प्रतिबिम्बति ।
पदार्थवासना तद्वदनभ्यासान्न जायते ॥ ७ ॥

Just as a distant object is not reflected in a mirror, similarly, the latent impressions (vāsanā) of worldly objects do not arise without proper practice.
