Indeed, just as a foolish person imagines a snake (bhujaṅgatva) in a rope, similarly, possessiveness (mamatva) is superimposed even on objects distinct from the ego (anahaṅkāraiḥ), such as wealth (dāma), wild animals (vyāla), and common articles (kaṭa); from this (tataḥ) [further delusion arises].
