योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-31, verse-25

अन्यथा प्राणिकृत्ताङ्गो रणे यो मृतिमाप्नुयात् ।
डिम्भाहवहतः प्रोक्तः स नरो नरकास्पदम् ॥ २५ ॥
anyathā prāṇikṛttāṅgo raṇe yo mṛtimāpnuyāt ,
ḍimbhāhavahataḥ proktaḥ sa naro narakāspadam 25
25. anyathā prāṇikṛttāṅgaḥ raṇe yaḥ mṛtim āpnuyāt
ḍimbhāhavahataḥ proktaḥ saḥ naraḥ narakāspadam
25. yaḥ prāṇikṛttāṅgaḥ raṇe anyathā mṛtim āpnuyāt,
saḥ naraḥ ḍimbhāhavahataḥ narakāspadam proktaḥ.
25. A person whose limbs are severed by an opponent and who dies in battle in an improper manner, is declared to have been killed in a chaotic (ḍimbhāhava) combat and is destined for hell (naraka).
