योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-31, verse-33

यत्र यत्र हतः शूरः स्वर्ग इत्यवशोक्तयः ।
धर्मे योद्धा भवेच्छूर इत्येवं शास्त्रनिश्चयः ॥ ३३ ॥
yatra yatra hataḥ śūraḥ svarga ityavaśoktayaḥ ,
dharme yoddhā bhavecchūra ityevaṃ śāstraniścayaḥ 33

33. Wherever a warrior is slain, people involuntarily exclaim, 'He goes to heaven.' Yet, this is the established conclusion of the scriptures: a warrior is truly heroic only when he fights for `dharma` (natural law).
