श्रीराम उवाच ।
ऊर्मिकासंविदुदयः कथं हेम्नो यथा मुने ।
अहंता चात्मन इति यथावद्ब्रूहि मे प्रभो ॥ २ ॥
ऊर्मिकासंविदुदयः कथं हेम्नो यथा मुने ।
अहंता चात्मन इति यथावद्ब्रूहि मे प्रभो ॥ २ ॥

ūrmikāsaṃvidudayaḥ kathaṃ hemno yathā mune ,
ahaṃtā cātmana iti yathāvadbrūhi me prabho 2

Śrī Rāma said: O Sage, just as the perception of a ripple (ūrmikā) arises from gold (heman), how does ego (ahaṅkāra) arise from the self (ātman)? O Lord, please explain this to me precisely.
