वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-15, verse-27

एवं स तेनाभिहतो विह्वलः शोणितोक्षितः ।
कृत्तमूल इवाशोको निपपात धनाधिपः ॥२७॥
27. evaṃ sa tenābhihato vihvalaḥ śoṇitokṣitaḥ ,
kṛttamūla ivāśoko nipapāta dhanādhipaḥ.

27. Thus, struck by him, he (Kubera), agitated and drenched in blood, fell down like an Aśoka tree with its roots cut, being the lord of wealth (dhanādhipaḥ).
