वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-15, verse-19

कस्य चिन्न हि दुर्बुधेश्छन्दतो जायते मतिः ।
यादृशं कुरुते कर्म तादृशं फलमश्नुते ॥१९॥
19. kasya cinna hi durbudheśchandato jāyate matiḥ ,
yādṛśaṃ kurute karma tādṛśaṃ phalamaśnute.
19. kasya cit na hi durbuddheḥ chandataḥ jāyate matiḥ
| yādṛśam kurute karma tādṛśam phalam aśnute
19. hi,
kasya cit durbuddheḥ matiḥ chandataḥ na jāyate.
yādṛśam karma kurute,
tādṛśam phalam aśnute.
19. Indeed, the intellect of no evil-minded person arises merely by his own desire. Whatever action (karma) one performs, that very fruit one enjoys.
