वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-14, verse-8

विराधश्च हतः संख्ये राक्षसो भीमविक्रमः ।
वने रामेण विक्रम्य महेन्द्रेणेव शम्बरः ॥८॥
8. virādhaśca hataḥ saṃkhye rākṣaso bhīmavikramaḥ ,
vane rāmeṇa vikramya mahendreṇeva śambaraḥ.

8. Virādha, the demon (rākṣasa) of terrible prowess, was also killed in battle in the forest by Rāma, who displayed his might, just as Śambara was killed by Mahendra (Indra).
