वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-14, verse-26

भर्ता नाम परं नार्या भूषणं भूषणादपि ।
एषा हि रहिता तेन शोभनार्हा न शोभते ॥२६॥
26. bhartā nāma paraṃ nāryā bhūṣaṇaṃ bhūṣaṇādapi ,
eṣā hi rahitā tena śobhanārhā na śobhate.

api eṣā hi rahitā tena śobhanārhā na śobhate
26. bhartā nāma nāryāḥ param bhūṣaṇam bhūṣaṇāt

26. Indeed, a husband is a woman's supreme adornment, even more so than (other) ornaments. For she, deprived of him, does not appear beautiful, even if she is worthy of splendor.
