28.
The mighty Rāma, as if smiling, first used three arrows to shatter Khara's three-pronged flagstaff, and then the immensely powerful one broke the chariot's axle with two arrows. Next, with the twelfth arrow, he cut Khara's bow along with its arrows. Finally, with the thirteenth arrow, which resembled a thunderbolt, Rāma, who was equal to Indra, pierced Khara in battle.
