वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-58, verse-47

तस्मान्मामागतं भद्रे तस्योदारस्य तद्वचः ।
यदहं पुत्रशोकेन संत्यक्ष्याम्यद्य जीवितम् ॥४७॥
47. tasmānmāmāgataṃ bhadre tasyodārasya tadvacaḥ ,
yadahaṃ putraśokena saṃtyakṣyāmyadya jīvitam.
47. tasmāt mām āgatam bhadre tasya udārasya tat vacaḥ
yat aham putraśokena saṃtyakṣyāmi adya jīvitam
47. bhadre tasmāt udārasya tasya tat vacaḥ mām āgatam
yat aham putraśokena adya jīvitam saṃtyakṣyāmi
47. Therefore, O revered lady, that word of his, the noble one, has reached me: that I shall give up my life today due to the grief for my son.
