वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-58, verse-21

अज्ञानाद्धि कृतं यस्मादिदं तेनैव जीवसि ।
अपि ह्यद्य कुलं नस्याद् राघवाणां कुतो भवान् ॥२१॥
21. ajñānāddhi kṛtaṃ yasmādidaṃ tenaiva jīvasi ,
api hyadya kulaṃ nasyād rāghavāṇāṃ kuto bhavān.
21. ajñānāt hi kṛtam yasmāt idam tena eva jīvasi api
hi adya kulam na syāt rāghavāṇām kutaḥ bhavān
21. yasmāt idam ajñānāt hi kṛtam tena eva jīvasi api
hi adya rāghavāṇām kulam na syāt bhavān kutaḥ
21. Indeed, because this deed was done out of ignorance, you are still alive. Otherwise, today the lineage of the Raghus would not exist, and where would you be?
