वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-51, verse-18

यथा च मन्ये दुर्जीवमेवं न सुकरं ध्रुवम् ।
आच्छिद्य पुत्रे निर्याते कौसल्या यत्र जीवति ॥१८॥
18. yathā ca manye durjīvamevaṃ na sukaraṃ dhruvam ,
ācchidya putre niryāte kausalyā yatra jīvati.

18. And I certainly believe that just as life is difficult, to survive in this manner is surely not easy. Yet, how does Kausalya live, with her son having been torn away and departed?
