महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-36, verse-39

श्रावयन्तो हि बहवस्तत्र योधा विशां पते ।
अन्योन्यमवमृद्नन्तः शक्तितोमरपट्टिशैः ॥३९॥
39. śrāvayanto hi bahavastatra yodhā viśāṁ pate ,
anyonyamavamṛdnantaḥ śaktitomarapaṭṭiśaiḥ.
39. śrāvayantaḥ hi bahavaḥ tatra yodhā viśām pate
anyonyam avamṛdnantaḥ śaktitomarapaṭṭiśaiḥ
39. viśām pate hi tatra bahavaḥ yodhāḥ (nāmagotrāṇi) śrāvayantaḥ

39. Indeed, O lord of the people, many warriors there, proclaiming their names and lineages, crushed each other with spears, javelins, and broadswords.
