महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-65, verse-3

संजय उवाच ।
तथार्जुनेन संभग्ने तस्मिंस्तव बले तदा ।
हतवीरे हतोत्साहे पलायनकृतक्षणे ॥३॥
3. saṁjaya uvāca ,
tathārjunena saṁbhagne tasmiṁstava bale tadā ,
hatavīre hatotsāhe palāyanakṛtakṣaṇe.

bale tadā hata-vīre hata-utsāhe palāyana-kṛta-kṣaṇe
3. sañjaya uvāca tadā tathā arjunena tasmin tava bale
sambhagne hata-vīre hata-utsāhe palāyana-kṛta-kṣaṇe
3. Sañjaya said: Then, when that army of yours was thoroughly shattered by Arjuna, with its heroes slain, its enthusiasm destroyed, and with flight as its only recourse.
