संजय उवाच ।
दक्षिणेन तु नीलस्य मेरोः पार्श्वे तथोत्तरे ।
उत्तराः कुरवो राजन्पुण्याः सिद्धनिषेविताः ॥२॥

Sanjaya said: O King, to the south of the Nīla mountain and similarly on the northern side of Mount Meru, lie the sacred (puṇyāḥ) Uttara Kurus, which are frequented by perfected beings (siddhas).
