महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-2, verse-14

दिष्टमेतत्पुरा चैव नात्र शोचितुमर्हसि ।
न चैव शक्यं संयन्तुं यतो धर्मस्ततो जयः ॥१४॥

14. This was indeed predestined long ago, so you ought not to grieve about it. It cannot be controlled, for where there is natural law (dharma), there is victory.
