महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-175, verse-29

न ह्युत्सहे स्वनगरं प्रतियातुं तपोधन ।
अवमानभयाच्चैव व्रीडया च महामुने ॥२९॥
29. na hyutsahe svanagaraṁ pratiyātuṁ tapodhana ,
avamānabhayāccaiva vrīḍayā ca mahāmune.
29. na hi utsahe sva-nagaram pratiyātum tapodhana
avamāna-bhayāt ca eva vrīḍayā ca mahāmune
29. tapodhana mahāmune na hi utsahe sva-nagaram
pratiyātum avamāna-bhayāt ca eva vrīḍayā ca
29. Indeed, O ascetic (tapas), O great sage, I am not able to return to my own city, both due to fear of disrespect and due to shame.
