महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-36, verse-29

न हि तेऽप्युपशाम्यन्ति निकृतानां निराकृताः ।
अवश्यं तैर्निकर्तव्यमस्माकं तत्प्रियैषिभिः ॥२९॥
29. na hi te'pyupaśāmyanti nikṛtānāṁ nirākṛtāḥ ,
avaśyaṁ tairnikartavyamasmākaṁ tatpriyaiṣibhiḥ.
29. na hi te api upaśāmyanti nikṛtānām nirākṛtāḥ
avaśyam taiḥ nikartavyam asmākam tatpriyaiṣibhiḥ
29. Indeed, those who have been rejected are not pacified on account of the insults they have suffered. Certainly, harm must be inflicted upon us by them and by those who desire their well-being.
