महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-120, verse-26

युधिष्ठिर उवाच ।
नैतच्चित्रं माधव यद्ब्रवीषि सत्यं तु मे रक्ष्यतमं न राज्यम् ।
कृष्णस्तु मां वेद यथावदेकः कृष्णं च वेदाहमथो यथावत् ॥२६॥
26. yudhiṣṭhira uvāca ,
naitaccitraṁ mādhava yadbravīṣi; satyaṁ tu me rakṣyatamaṁ na rājyam ,
kṛṣṇastu māṁ veda yathāvadekaḥ; kṛṣṇaṁ ca vedāhamatho yathāvat.
26. yudhiṣṭhiraḥ uvāca na etat citram mādhava
yat bravīṣi satyam tu me rakṣyatamam
na rājyam kṛṣṇaḥ tu mām veda yathāvat
ekaḥ kṛṣṇam ca veda aham atho yathāvat
26. Yudhiṣṭhira said: 'Mādhava, what you say is not surprising. Indeed, my foremost duty is to protect truth (satya), not kingship. But Kṛṣṇa alone truly knows me, and I, in turn, truly know Kṛṣṇa.'
