महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-116, verse-24

चिच्छेद निशितैर्भल्लैर्बाहून्परिघसंनिभान् ।
सहस्रसंमितान्राजन्प्रगृह्य रुचिरं धनुः ॥२४॥
24. ciccheda niśitairbhallairbāhūnparighasaṁnibhān ,
sahasrasaṁmitānrājanpragṛhya ruciraṁ dhanuḥ.
24. ciccheda niśitaiḥ bhallaiḥ bāhūn parighasaṃnibhān
sahasrasaṃmitān rājan pragṛhya ruciraṃ dhanuḥ
24. O King, having grasped his beautiful bow, he cut off [Kārtavīrya's] thousand arms, which resembled iron maces, with sharp arrows.
