महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-116, verse-17

स वव्रे मातुरुत्थानमस्मृतिं च वधस्य वै ।
पापेन तेन चास्पर्शं भ्रातॄणां प्रकृतिं तथा ॥१७॥

17. He chose his mother's resurrection, indeed the oblivion of the slaying, and immunity from the sin of that act (karma) for himself and his brothers, as well as their return to their original nature (prakṛti).
