महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-148, verse-6

प्रथमं ब्रह्मणः पुत्रं धर्ममाहुर्मनीषिणः ।
धर्मिणः पर्युपासन्ते फलं पक्वमिवाशयः ॥६॥
6. prathamaṁ brahmaṇaḥ putraṁ dharmamāhurmanīṣiṇaḥ ,
dharmiṇaḥ paryupāsante phalaṁ pakvamivāśayaḥ.

6. The wise ones declare (dharma) to be the first son of Brahmā. Those who are righteous (dharmiṇaḥ) diligently cultivate it, just as one would a ripe fruit (phalam pakvam iva), with the hopeful expectation (āśayaḥ) of its yield.
