महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-148, verse-29

ज्ञानपूर्वं कृतं कर्म च्छादयन्ते ह्यसाधवः ।
न मां मनुष्याः पश्यन्ति न मां पश्यन्ति देवताः ।
पापेनाभिहतः पापः पापमेवाभिजायते ॥२९॥
29. jñānapūrvaṁ kṛtaṁ karma cchādayante hyasādhavaḥ ,
na māṁ manuṣyāḥ paśyanti na māṁ paśyanti devatāḥ ,
pāpenābhihataḥ pāpaḥ pāpamevābhijāyate.
29. jñānapūrvaṃ kṛtaṃ karma chādayante hi
asādhavaḥ | na mām manuṣyāḥ paśyanti
na mām paśyanti devatāḥ | pāpena
abhihataḥ pāpaḥ pāpam eva abhijāyate
29. hi asādhavaḥ jñānapūrvaṃ kṛtaṃ karma chādayante manuṣyāḥ mām na paśyanti,
devatāḥ mām na paśyanti pāpena abhihataḥ pāpaḥ pāpam eva abhijāyate
29. Indeed, the wicked conceal actions (karma) performed knowingly. Humans do not see me, nor do deities see me. A sinful person, overcome by sin, produces only sin.
