अभवं तत्र जानानो ह्येतान्दोषान्मदात्तदा ।
संरब्ध एव भूतानां पृष्ठमांसान्यभक्षयम् ॥१८॥

18. abhavaṁ tatra jānāno hyetāndoṣānmadāttadā ,
saṁrabdha eva bhūtānāṁ pṛṣṭhamāṁsānyabhakṣayam.

18. abhavam tatra jānānaḥ hi etān doṣān madāt tadā
saṃrabdhaḥ eva bhūtānām pṛṣṭhamāṃsāni abhakṣayam

18. Indeed, at that time, even though I knew these faults arose from pride, I became utterly enraged and devoured the back-flesh of living beings.
