महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-27, verse-12

यदैनं पतितं भूमावपश्यं रुधिरोक्षितम् ।
तदैवाविशदत्युग्रो ज्वरो मे मुनिसत्तम ।
येन संवर्धिता बाला येन स्म परिरक्षिताः ॥१२॥
12. yadainaṁ patitaṁ bhūmāvapaśyaṁ rudhirokṣitam ,
tadaivāviśadatyugro jvaro me munisattama ,
yena saṁvardhitā bālā yena sma parirakṣitāḥ.
12. yadā enam patitam bhūmau apaśyam
rudhirokṣitam tadā eva āviśat atyugraḥ
jvaraḥ me munisattama yena
saṃvardhitāḥ bālāḥ yena sma parirakṣitāḥ
12. munisattama,
yadā enam rudhirokṣitam patitam bhūmau apaśyam,
tadā eva atyugraḥ jvaraḥ me āviśat.
yena bālāḥ saṃvardhitāḥ,
yena sma parirakṣitāḥ.
12. O best of sages, when I saw myself fallen on the ground, drenched in blood, then indeed an extremely terrible fever seized me. I, by whom the children had been raised, and by whom they had been protected.
