महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-212, verse-16

तच्छ्रुत्वा वृष्णिवीरास्ते मदरक्तान्तलोचनाः ।
अमृष्यमाणाः पार्थस्य समुत्पेतुरहंकृताः ॥१६॥
16. tacchrutvā vṛṣṇivīrāste madaraktāntalocanāḥ ,
amṛṣyamāṇāḥ pārthasya samutpeturahaṁkṛtāḥ.
16. tat śrutvā vṛṣṇivīrāḥ te madaraktāntalocanāḥ
amṛṣyamāṇāḥ pārthasya samutpetuḥ ahaṃkṛtāḥ
16. Having heard that, those Vrishni heroes, with the corners of their eyes red with intoxication and anger, and filled with ego (ahaṅkāra), leapt up, unable to tolerate the actions of Partha (Arjuna).
