महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-124, verse-19

स यथासमयं चक्रे बलिं बलवतां वरः ।
ब्राह्मणांश्चात्र मन्त्रज्ञान्वाचयामास मङ्गलम् ॥१९॥
19. sa yathāsamayaṁ cakre baliṁ balavatāṁ varaḥ ,
brāhmaṇāṁścātra mantrajñānvācayāmāsa maṅgalam.

brāhmaṇāḥ ca atra mantrajñān vācayāmāsa maṅgalam
19. He, the foremost among the powerful, made offerings at the appropriate time. Thereupon, he had the brahmins, who were knowledgeable in sacred formulas (mantras), recite auspicious benedictions.
