योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-67, verse-42

चतुर्दशविधायास्तु भूतजातेर्न कस्यचित् ।
सिध्यत्यभिमतं वस्तु विनाभ्यासमकृत्रिमम् ॥ ४२ ॥
caturdaśavidhāyāstu bhūtajāterna kasyacit ,
sidhyatyabhimataṃ vastu vinābhyāsamakṛtrimam 42
42. caturdaśavidhāyāḥ tu bhūtajāteḥ na kasyacit
sidhyati abhimatam vastu vinā abhyāsam akṛtrimam
42. caturdaśavidhāyāḥ bhūtajāteḥ tu kasyacit na abhimatam vastu akṛtrimam abhyāsam vinā sidhyati.
42. Indeed, for any of the fourteen kinds of beings, no desired object (vastu) is achieved without genuine (akṛtrima) practice (abhyāsa).
