अकाण्डे मरणोड्डीनं चण्डचण्डालमण्डलम् ।
निरन्नतृणपत्राम्बु विन्ध्यकच्छं तदाययौ ॥ ९ ॥

nirannatṛṇapatrāmbu vindhyakacchaṃ tadāyayau 9

9. Then, a fierce group of outcasts, having suddenly swarmed for death, arrived at the Vindhya region (Vindhyakaccha), which was devoid of food, grass, leaves, and water.
