वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-17, verse-6

एवमुक्ता तु सा कन्या तेनानार्येण रक्षसा ।
अब्रवीद्विधिवत् कृत्वा तस्यातिथ्यं तपोधना ॥६॥
6. evamuktā tu sā kanyā tenānāryeṇa rakṣasā ,
abravīdvidhivat kṛtvā tasyātithyaṃ tapodhanā.
6. evam uktā tu sā kanyā tena anāryeṇa rakṣasā
abravīt vidhivat kṛtvā tasya ātithyam tapodhanā
6. tena anāryeṇa rakṣasā evam uktā tu sā kanyā,
tasya ātithyam विधिवत् कृत्वा,
तपोधना अब्रवीत्।
6. But that maiden, thus addressed by that ignoble demon (rakṣas), replied after properly offering him hospitality, for she was one whose wealth was her austerities (tapas).
