एषा वेदवती नाम पूर्वमासीत् कृते युगे ।
त्रेतायुगमनुप्राप्य वधार्थं तस्य रक्षसः ।
सीतोत्पन्नेति सीतैषा मानुषैः पुनरुच्यते ॥३१॥

31. eṣā vedavatī nāma pūrvamāsīt kṛte yuge ,

sītotpanneti sītaiṣā mānuṣaiḥ punarucyate.

31.
This woman, named Vedavatī, existed formerly in the Kṛta age (yuga). When the Tretā age (yuga) arrived, for the purpose of slaying that demon (rākṣasa), she was born as Sītā. Therefore, this Sītā is again referred to as Sītā by humans.
