वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-91, verse-12

त्रासनं सर्वभूतानां दारणं भेदनं तथा ।
प्रदीप्त इव रोषेण शूलं जग्राह रावणः ॥१२॥
12. trāsanaṃ sarvabhūtānāṃ dāraṇaṃ bhedanaṃ tathā ,
pradīpta iva roṣeṇa śūlaṃ jagrāha rāvaṇaḥ.

12. (The weapon was) terrifying to all creatures, tearing, and piercing. Rāvaṇa, as if blazing with rage, then seized the spear (śūla).
