वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-26, verse-33

इदं वचस्तत्र निगद्य माल्यवन्परीक्ष्य रक्षोऽधिपतेर्मनः पुनः ।
अनुत्तमेषूत्तमपौरुषो बली बभूव तूष्णीं समवेक्ष्य रावणम् ॥३३॥
33. idaṃ vacastatra nigadya mālyavanparīkṣya rakṣo'dhipatermanaḥ punaḥ ,
anuttameṣūttamapauruṣo balī babhūva tūṣṇīṃ samavekṣya rāvaṇam.

parīkṣya rakṣaḥ adhipateḥ manaḥ
punaḥ anuttameṣu uttamapauruṣaḥ balī

33. Having spoken these words there, Mālyavān, who was mighty and possessed unsurpassed valor, again assessed the mind of the lord of rākṣasas. Then, upon observing Rāvaṇa, he became silent.
