वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-26, verse-11

असृजद्भगवान्पक्षौ द्वावेव हि पितामहः ।
सुराणामसुराणां च धर्माधर्मौ तदाश्रयौ ॥११॥
11. asṛjadbhagavānpakṣau dvāveva hi pitāmahaḥ ,
surāṇāmasurāṇāṃ ca dharmādharmau tadāśrayau.
11. asṛjat bhagavān pakṣau dvau eva hi pitāmahaḥ
surāṇām asurāṇām ca dharmaḥ adharmaḥ tat-āśrayau
11. bhagavān pitāmahaḥ hi dvau pakṣau eva asṛjat: surāṇām ca asurāṇām.
dharmaḥ adharmaḥ ca tat-āśrayau.
11. The divine Grandfather (Brahmā) indeed created just two factions: those of the gods and those of the asuras. Righteousness (dharma) and unrighteousness (adharma) are based upon them.
