वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-64, verse-16

ततः प्रसादितो देवैर्वसिष्ठो जपतां वरः ।
सख्यं चकार ब्रह्मर्षिरेवमस्त्विति चाब्रवीत् ॥१६॥
16. tataḥ prasādito devairvasiṣṭho japatāṃ varaḥ ,
sakhyaṃ cakāra brahmarṣirevamastviti cābravīt.

sakhyam cakāra brahma-ṛṣiḥ evam astu iti ca abravīt

16. Then, Vasiṣṭha, the foremost among those performing japa, having been propitiated by the gods, the brahmin sage (brahmarṣi) formed a friendship and said, 'So be it!'
