वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-23, verse-9

तस्यायमतुलः शब्दो जाह्नवीमभिवर्तते ।
वारिसंक्षोभजो राम प्रणामं नियतः कुरु ॥९॥
9. tasyāyamatulaḥ śabdo jāhnavīmabhivartate ,
vārisaṃkṣobhajo rāma praṇāmaṃ niyataḥ kuru.
9. tasya ayam atulaḥ śabdaḥ jāhnavīm abhivartate
vārisaṃkṣobhajaḥ rāma praṇāmam niyataḥ kuru
9. rāma tasya ayam atulaḥ vārisaṃkṣobhajaḥ śabdaḥ
jāhnavīm abhivartate niyataḥ praṇāmam kuru
9. This incomparable sound of that (river), born from the agitation of its waters, approaches the Gaṅgā (Jāhnavī). O Rāma, perform your obeisance with discipline (niyata).
