मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-52, verse-5

रुद्रस्त्वं देव नाम्नासि मा रोदीर्धैर्यमावह ।
एवमुक्तस्ततः सोऽथ सप्तकृत्वो रुरोद ह ॥५॥
5. rudrastvaṃ deva nāmnāsi mā rodīrdhairyamāvaha .
evamuktastataḥ so'tha saptakṛtvo ruroda ha.
5. rudraḥ tvam deva nāmnā asi mā rodīḥ dhairyam āvaha
evaṃ uktaḥ tataḥ saḥ atha saptakṛtvaḥ ruroda ha
5. O god, you are Rudra (the crier) by name. Do not cry; be courageous. Thus spoken to, he then indeed cried seven times.
