मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-52, verse-12

एवम्प्रकारो रुद्रोऽसौ सतीं भार्यामविन्दत ।
दक्षकोपाच्च तत्याज सा सती स्वं कलेवरम् ॥१२॥
12. evamprakāro rudro'sau satīṃ bhāryāmavindata .
dakṣakopācca tatyāja sā satī svaṃ kalevaram.
12. evamprakāraḥ rudraḥ asau satīm bhāryām avindata
dakṣakopāt ca tatyāja sā satī svam kalevaram
12. This Rudra, of such a nature, obtained Sati as his wife. And due to Dakṣa's anger, she, Sati, abandoned her own body.
