मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-119, verse-26

उच्चार्यते स्तुतिर्या वः सूतमागधबन्दिभिः ।
सा सत्या मा वृथा वीरा भवत्वरिविनाशनात् ॥२६॥
26. uccāryate stutiryā vaḥ sūtamāgadhabandibhiḥ .
sā satyā mā vṛthā vīrā bhavatvarivināśanāt.
26. uccāryate stutiḥ yā vaḥ sūtamāgadhabandibhiḥ
sā satyā mā vṛthā vīrāḥ bhavatu arivināśanāt
26. O heroes, let the praise proclaimed for you by bards, panegyrists, and eulogists be true! Do not let it become meaningless by failing to destroy your enemies.
