मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-119, verse-18

याश्चैनं नाभिनन्दन्ति स्वयंवरकृतक्षणाः ।
ताश्चापि स बलाद्वीरो जग्राह नृपतेः सुतः ॥१८॥
18. yāścainaṃ nābhinandanti svayaṃvarakṛtakṣaṇāḥ .
tāścāpi sa balādvīro jagrāha nṛpateḥ sutaḥ.
18. yāḥ ca enam na abhinandanti svayaṃvarakṛtakṣaṇāḥ
tāḥ ca api saḥ balāt vīraḥ jagṛhe nṛpateḥ sutaḥ
18. And even those [women] who, though present at the self-choice marriage ceremony (svayaṃvara) to make their choice, did not approve of him, the heroic son of the king seized them by force.
