मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-105, verse-7

अधृष्यां सर्वभूतानां तपसा नियमेन च ।
उत्तरांश्च कुरून्गत्वा भूत्वाऽश्वो भानुरागमत् ॥७॥
7. adhṛṣyāṃ sarvabhūtānāṃ tapasā niyamena ca .
uttarāṃśca kurūngatvā bhūtvā'śvo bhānurāgamat.
7. adhṛṣyām sarvabhūtānām tapasā niyamena ca
uttarān ca kurūn gatvā bhūtvā aśvaḥ bhānuḥ āgamat
7. Unapproachable by any being due to her austerity (tapas) and discipline, the Sun (Bhānu) then arrived, having transformed into a horse, after going to the northern Kurus.
