मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-105, verse-11

मार्त्तण्डस्य सुतावेतावश्वरूपधरस्य हि ।
रेतसोऽन्ते च रेवन्तः खड्गी धन्वी तनुत्रधृक् ॥११॥
11. mārttaṇḍasya sutāvetāvaśvarūpadharasya hi .
retaso'nte ca revantaḥ khaḍgī dhanvī tanutradhṛk.
11. mārttaṇḍasya sutau etau aśvarūpadharasya hi |
retasaḥ ante ca revantaḥ khaḍgī dhanvī tanutradhṛk
11. Indeed, these two (Aśvins) are the sons of Mārtaṇḍa, who had assumed a horse form. And after his semen (retas) was released, Revanta, a sword-bearer, archer, and armor-wearer, was also born.
