महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-72, verse-27

यथा श्येनस्य पतनं वनेष्वामिषगृद्धिनः ।
तथैवासीदभीसारस्तस्य द्रोणं जिघांसतः ॥२७॥
27. yathā śyenasya patanaṁ vaneṣvāmiṣagṛddhinaḥ ,
tathaivāsīdabhīsārastasya droṇaṁ jighāṁsataḥ.

tathā eva āsīt abhīsāraḥ tasya droṇam jighāṃsataḥ
27. yathā āmiṣagṛddhinaḥ śyenasya vaneṣu patanam āsīt.
tathā eva droṇam jighāṃsataḥ tasya abhīsāraḥ āsīt.
27. Just as a hawk, intent on seizing its prey (āmiṣa), swoops down in the forests, so too was his charge against Drona, whom he desired to kill.
