महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-42, verse-24

को ह्येवमन्तरात्मानं ब्राह्मणो हन्तुमर्हति ।
तस्माद्धि किंचित्क्षत्रिय ब्रह्मावसति पश्यति ॥२४॥

24. ko hyevamantarātmānaṁ brāhmaṇo hantumarhati ,
tasmāddhi kiṁcitkṣatriya brahmāvasati paśyati.

24. kaḥ hi evam antarātmanam brāhmaṇaḥ hantum arhati
tasmāt hi kiñcit kṣatriya brahmāvasati paśyati

24. Indeed, what brahmin (brāhmaṇa) would be able to kill his own inner self (antarātman) in this manner? Therefore, O kṣatriya, he indeed perceives some dwelling place of the ultimate reality (brahman).
