महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-72, verse-26

रहिता भर्तृभिश्चैव न क्रुध्यन्ति कदाचन ।
प्राणांश्चारित्रकवचा धारयन्तीह सत्स्त्रियः ॥२६॥
26. rahitā bhartṛbhiścaiva na krudhyanti kadācana ,
prāṇāṁścāritrakavacā dhārayantīha satstriyaḥ.

26. Here in this world, virtuous women (satstriyaḥ), whose character (cāritra) is their armor, sustain their lives, and they never become angry, even when abandoned by their husbands.
