महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-230, verse-31

ततो रथादवप्लुत्य सूतपुत्रोऽसिचर्मभृत् ।
विकर्णरथमास्थाय मोक्षायाश्वानचोदयत् ॥३१॥
31. tato rathādavaplutya sūtaputro'sicarmabhṛt ,
vikarṇarathamāsthāya mokṣāyāśvānacodayat.
31. tataḥ rathāt avaplutya sūtaputraḥ asicarmabhṛt
vikarṇaratham āsthāya mokṣāya aśvān acodayat
31. Then, having jumped down from his chariot, Karṇa, the son of the charioteer (sūtaputra), carrying a sword and shield, mounted Vikarṇa's chariot and urged the horses on for his escape (mokṣa).
