महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-56, verse-27

ह्रस्वेन चैते आमुक्ते भवतो ह्रस्वके तदा ।
अनुरूपेण चामुक्ते तत्प्रमाणे हि जायतः ॥२७॥
27. hrasvena caite āmukte bhavato hrasvake tadā ,
anurūpeṇa cāmukte tatpramāṇe hi jāyataḥ.
27. hrasvena ca ete āmukte bhavataḥ hrasvake tadā
| anurūpeṇa ca āmukte tatpramāṇe hi jāyataḥ
27. ca ete hrasvena āmukte tadā hrasvake bhavataḥ
ca anurūpeṇa āmukte hi tatpramāṇe jāyataḥ
27. And these (earrings), when worn by a short person, become short then. And when worn by a person of suitable stature, they indeed become of that original size.
