महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-35, verse-23

स्तेयं कुर्वंस्तु गुर्वर्थमापत्सु न निबध्यते ।
बहुशः कामकारेण न चेद्यः संप्रवर्तते ॥२३॥
23. steyaṁ kurvaṁstu gurvarthamāpatsu na nibadhyate ,
bahuśaḥ kāmakāreṇa na cedyaḥ saṁpravartate.
23. steyam kurvan tu gurvartham āpatsu na nibadhyate
bahuśaḥ kāmakāreṇa na cet yaḥ sampravartate
23. tu yaḥ steyam gurvartham āpatsu kurvan na
nibadhyate cet na bahuśaḥ kāmakāreṇa sampravartate
23. However, a person who commits theft for the guru's benefit during times of adversity is not bound by its negative consequences, provided he does not act repeatedly out of mere selfish desire.
